Description
An overview of implant dentistry to include scientific rationale, treatment planning, team communication, impression techniques, abutment selection, restorative workflow, and patient communication will be presented by members of the implant team. Hands-on training for impression techniques and handling abutments and torque drivers included. *Doctors can bring 1 staff member to this course.
Objectives
- Understand why implant dentistry is treatment of choice for missing teeth
- Improve communication within the implant team
- Be able to confidently discuss implant treatment options with your patients
- Learn how to choose the right abutment – stock vs custom, screw vs cement
- Understand restorative workflow for implant retained restorations
Biography
David Hedgecoe graduated from Wake Forest University and The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. He completed a General Practice Residency at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC. He practices with his father, Dr. Joel Hedgecoe, and Dr. Chessica Logue in Fayetteville, NC. He is a Fellow in both the Academy of General Dentistry and the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Jones hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Summa Cum Laude and was awarded the distinction of “University Scholar.” He completed his doctorate studies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. His residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery was completed at the Medical College of Virginia.Dr. Jones served his country as a staff surgeon at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC. There he received The Meritorious Service Medal. He has been in private practice in North Carolina now for 20 years. His practice’s primary focus has been dental implant placement and reconstructive surgery. He is board certified in his specialty. He also enjoys lecturing about implant dentistry and is the founder and director of the Fayetteville Implant Dentistry Study Club and the Central Carolina Dental Continuum, a Seattle Study Club. He is an adjunct professor at VCU/MCV.
